Mark Twain Day By Day Vol. IV (1905-1910)
The final volume in the series is 1,451 pages, longer than any other volume. Here are the busy and powerful years packed with all available primary sources, including much of Isabel Lyon's journals (day planners, etc.). After Livy's death in 1904, Clemens was somewhat freer to be involved in many civic, social, political and literary endeavors. Contrary to the idea that these were empty, sullen years, this volume shows Twain's great vitality in the face of his declining powers. A must for every Twain addict.
